Resurrection: (noun)
the art or fact of bringing one back to life,
or bringing something back into use or existence.
A text I just sent:
“I’m sitting here trying to write about resurrection and what it means to climb out of depression, but the words are not here yet.
Maybe because it’s hard to write and climb at the same time.”
Til the words come, please enjoy video of last Tuesday. Turns out there was a brand new piece of me at the tippy top. I scooped her up real gentle, like a butterfly, and took her home.
For posterity, here are some pictures of a past resurrection (fyi, you can do it as many times as you need to.)
Me and my sister, backpacking out of the canyon after a camping at Havasupai Falls. Circa 2000. (Yes, the water is that blue.)
Me and canyons, man…I’m listening closeclose to the resurrection stories they tell.
Also, my sister…I’m never ascending the steepest parts alone.
