Oh girl straight to the heart! Max and Riggins and all of it. πππ it is a weird thing when a body was filed with life and is no more. Itβs a portal. I believe it is sacred and cleaves is open to love more Love ya big
This is such a beautiful tribute to Maxβ¦ some people are able to put into words the depth of love and loss we feel when our four-leggeds must leave us. You are one of them. My rescued partner/companion Ginger is going on 15. I m trying to prepare myself for when I will be without her; sheβs my only mate.
All the comments echo my thoughts as well β¦ ππΎ
My son just drove away after being home for a few days, and I cried like a baby in my front yard, even though I will see him in a month. The thought flashed through my mind that life is a series of long sweet hellos and goodbyes, and all we can do is love our hearts out. I hope Maxie is running around with Bogie and Chewy and all the great dogs, and Iβm sending yβall so much love π Happy Birthday to the great Riggs once again xx
Beautiful and aching. A good friend of mine once said, "I feel sorry for anyone who has never really gotten to know a cat." The same could certainly be said for dogs.
"Dogs die. But dogs live, too. Right up until they die, they live. They live brave, beautiful lives. They protect their families. And love us. And make our lives a little brighter. And they don't waste time being afraid of tomorrow." ~ Dan Gemeinhart, The Honest Truth
My dear friend, Molly, sent this to me when our Zuke left his body. May it offer some comfort. Dear Max, a cherished family member leaving this world so much better because he was fully in it.

I'm so sorry. Such a hard thing.
Itβs the worst.
I read somewhere that being a dogβs human is a contract with heartbreakβand it is. Iβve also heard other stories of Great Danes who, faced with the sorrow of loss, throw their heads back and howl. Sweet Max. Hug Riggs for us. π©·

Agree and times a hundred. π All animals leave us better and ultimately heartbroken. And yet, we live on.
Sissy thank you for this tribute to our Maxieβ€οΈ I miss him so much and I know you do tooπ
Havenβt met you but feel this so deeply. Sending β€οΈ and have him (and the others) look for our 5 chocolates π€
The unconditional love our dogs give us, is the purest gift we can ever receive. We love them but they really do love us more

Loving and gentle care. ππ«π
The love of an animal is one of life's greatest gifts. Dogs are the Universe's way of constantly saying "I love you."
I'm so sorry. π’
